Spado is my current creative project. It’s all I can do. It takes the form of a blog, but is really a journal, a diary, and a letter to no one and everyone simultaneously. It is a daily practice, a catalog of observations, a travelogue, and an archive.

A spado is an impotent person. Historically, one whose testicles were removed. Similar to a eunuch, but with the penis intact. Like a castrati, but without the musical connotation. I have revived the term spado as a name for what I am — a cancer patient on long term Androgen Deprivation Therapy. I am a man who is not one.
