Two sides. Two states. On and off. 1 and 0. Not so much an essential truth as a way of encoding information. “[V]ery fine people, on both sides.” Two parties, two genders, two sexes. Obviously not always true, just a way of organizing things. So utterly false, at times, that the binary fails to organize, fails to encode. 2018.
